St. Adele’s
President: Mary Hannah Jones - - Phone: 782-9023
St. Adele’s chapter was started in January 2007. St. Adele’s vocation was as a wife and mother serving God by taking care of family, praying and doing works of mercy. St. Adele is an example of most of the women in our group. We are in our late 30s and 40s focusing on serving God through our family, church and community.
St. Adele’s is dedicated to supporting the youth ministry program of Christ Church through the EYC. We have cooked and served meals for the Sunday night EYC meetings. We created care packages for the youth pilgrimage to New Orleans. St. Adele’s will continue to support the EYC with prayers and projects.
Meeting Dates: St. Adele’s meets on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 12 noon in members’ homes. We have a meeting followed by fellowship and lunch.
St. Bridget’s
President: Maggie Michaels - maggiemichaels@gmail.com - Phone: (304) 382-7007

St. Bridget's Mission Statement: A group of diverse women focused on helping the local community through donating goods, personal time and services. We are united in our beliefs of the Christian faith and our compassion for all mankind. St Bridget's is committed to providing an unwavering support system to its fellow members with the understanding that strengthening each other will enable us to better help those that are in need. Our patron Saint is St. Bridget of Ireland who was well known for her boundless charity.
St. Bridget's was founded in 2004 by Christ Church Women. It's the largest ECW Chapter. Like every other group, we are diverse in nature and extremely involved with Christ Church both inside and outside of the group.
Our focus is service projects, providing a strong support system to members, and social activities—have fun while doing everything! This fall we are working closely with InterAct and we will help with the Helen Wright Center in the spring. St. Bridget's has participated in Wine & Design as a private group, Girl's Night Out at Cantina 18, and our annual Mani/Pedi Party at Midtown. Also, we support our new mothers by making sure they have 2 meals per week provided by other members for at least a 4-6 week period.
In the past, St. Bridget's sponsored Quiche Sales as a way to raise money to send kids to camp. However, the current state of our economy has more of our own parishioners struggling this year. So it was clear to us where our focus should be redirected. St. Bridget's is sponsoring a Children's Consignment Sale this spring. The money raised from the sale will be given to the Christ Church Youth Ministry.
Meetings: We offer two meetings a month—one in the morning and evening. The evening meeting is our more social meeting with Wine and Snacks.
Evening Meetings: Meets the second Monday of the month at 7:00 pm in the homes of our members.
Morning Meetings: Meets the second Tuesday of the month at 10:30 am in the Church Parlor.
St. Clare’s
President: Georgia-Carolyn Davis - gcmdavis@gmail.com - Phone: 906-2197(C)
St. Clare's was founded in the 1990s. We are a diverse group - single, married, full-time workers, part-time workers, stay-at-home moms, etc. who are in our 30s, 40s and beyond. Our members tend to be very involved in the ECW and in the Church as a whole. Our group is service oriented, helping with numerous ECW, church projects and committees throughout the year. Those include Wake Relief, Halloween Carnival, Greenery Sale as well as Spring Fling. We do not offer Bible Study at meetings but do have a regular devotional.
Meeting Dates: We meet once a month at a local restaurant, a member’s home or at church. We have both lunch meetings and 7:00pm meetings from August to May.
St. Dorothea’s
President: Barbara Ann Knight - Phone: 833-5014
St. Dorothea's is the oldest ECW chapter at Christ Church. We don't think of ourselves as the oldest members; however, we are thriving seniors and actively involved. We have fourteen members and a sustaining member at the Penick Home in Southern Pines.
We have had several Bible studies in the past and a study of Christian hymns. We have financially supported the education and care of two children in Haiti for many years. This is our primary outreach project. In addition, we recently made a contribution to the St. Mary's Chapter in support of a Christmas Party at St. Saviours for the residents of Glenwood Towers and have done different craft projects for the Greenery Sale.
Meeting Dates: We meet the third Wednesday of the month at noon, in the Chapel at Christ Church for Eucharist and healing service. Afterwards, we meet for lunch in the Parlor and a brief meeting.
